Reducing Sewer Overflows

Who is responsible for developing solutions to address the overflow problem?

MSD has assembled a team of its staff experts together with consultants from Jacobs Engineering to plan technical solutions that will reduce the amount and frequency of sewer overflows. It is also partnering with the public to ensure that it implements the best sewer solutions for our region.

Assisting in this endeavor is Vector Communications, a public engagement consulting firm that is working with MSD to educate the public about sewer overflows, overflow solutions, and their associated costs. MSD and its consultants are also soliciting input from the public and community stakeholders to learn about their sewer concerns, preferences and priorities.

In addition to engaging the public and several stakeholder groups throughout the planning stage, MSD has assembled the Clean Rivers Healthy Communities Stakeholder Advisory Committee comprised of community, municipal, business and environmental representatives.
